INFANT PROGRAM
The infant program provides quality care to children one month through fifteen months of age. While this includes appropriate feeding, sleeping, changing, and playing schedules, it also includes developmental evaluation of the child’s skills in gross motor, perceptual / fine motor, cognition, self-help skills, language, and social / emotional skills, in an effort to assess progress in development and detect any delays.
While it may appear that infants do not develop in the first year in emotional, cognitive, language, and self-help skills, they do. We take into account that all children develop at their own pace. There are milestones we look for and when we are concerned about a child’s development, we devise a program plan to help the children learn skills that he or she may not have mastered. Sometimes we recommend evaluation for children and may set up sessions for children at the school where specialists in the fields of speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, psychology, special education and parenting will work on an individual and group basis with parents or children.
TODDLER PROGRAM
The toddler program continues evaluation of children’s development in the areas of social / emotional, gross motor, perceptual / fine motor, cognitive, language, and self-help skills. However, focus is placed more on social / emotional development and pre-academic competition among the children. We do not believe in holding children back. If a child is ready and willing to learn, we encourage this in a logical and educational sequence.
Activities include beginning work in letters, colors, numbers, art, water and sand activities, as well as many other sensory activities.
